The growing trend of parity in sports has made its way to girls basketball in Tennessee. This balance in talent will make for exciting play this season and lots of upsets. This week saw the first round of two single A powerhouses go toe-to-toe, with Greenfield edging out Loretto in front of a packed house at Martin Westview. The AA state title contender, Macon County, traveled out of state to Arkansas and picked up two convincing wins at Greene County Tech's Lady Eagle Classic against Farmington and Paragould, while Martin Westview fell to single A title contender Gibson County at home. In AAA, Blackman took down the reigning champions, Bradley Central, early in the week, but lost two games to Arlington and Whitehaven at the Heels 2 Hoopers Hoopfest in Memphis. In Division II-A, Lakeway Christian Academy takes over as the top seed after a strong week of games while in Division II-AA, Ensworth traveled east to Chattanooga and beat East Hamilton and Bradley Central on back-to-back days.
