The Christmas season is here and we have a lot to talk about, as teams traveled around the state and nation this past week for Christmas break tournaments. Tennessee has been well-represented, as teams have traveled out to tournaments in Myrtle Beach, various parts of Florida, and Alabama. Meanwhile here at home, there were some very good tournaments that took place in the Volunteer State as well. These highly competitive events caused some major shake-ups in the rankings once again, primarily in the AAA classification. For the third week in a row, the number one spot in Class AAA lost, as Bearden was defeated by defending state champions, Bradley Central in the 5Star Preps Classic. This week, Bradley Central regains its top ranking for the second time this season after impressive wins over Bearden and Farragut. In Class AA, Macon County is on a roll, as they cruised through the Sonic Shootout, hosted by White County, beating Clarkrange and White County. Greenfield and Loretto continue to hold the top spots in Class A, although Greenfield will be challenged by a very good Jonesboro (AR) team this week in the Dot Foods Classic at Dyersburg HS. In Division II-A, Lakeway Christian lost two games, knocking them out of the number one spot. In Division II-AA this week, Baylor knocked off Hutchison while Ensworth continues to hold strong with the top spot in the league.
