3A-5A Games to watch

6 GAMES WE'RE EXCITED FOR

  1. MASE @ Westview Fri. Aug 22- Two of the best teams in the state opening the season. Multiple D1 players on the field at one time. I'm not sure there's more to ask for here. Will be excited to see Graham Simpson start his Sophomore campaign against one of the toughest defenses in the State. You'll probably see the Gridiron Blitz team out at this one.

  2. Haywood @ Henry Co. Thur Aug 21- Two of the best teams in West Tennessee the last decade face off in the Season opener. Georgia commit leads Haywood into Paris where Henry Co returns alot of skill positions and wants to build on their second round exit of the playoffs last season. Coach Josh Wolfe first game as head man will be a tough one, but we're excited about it. What a start to the season!

  3. Dyer Co. @ Dyersburg Fri. Aug 22- I just love rivarly games. This will also be the first game as head coach for longtime DC assitant Justin Dubruiel. The Choctaws return plenty of talent as does Dyersburg. This one will be fun as it's gone back and forth the past few years. You'll want to get there early because the whole county will be there.

  4. Covington @ Westview Fri Oct 31- Last season's regular season matchup was whirlwind. Back and forth until finally Westview won out in the end. Another one that could determine the Region Title. Covington loses their Mr. Football but its still Covington. They'll be ready for the challenge to finish off the season and we can't wait for it!

  5. Dyer Co @ Chester Co- Fri Oct 3- I fully expect this one to be a deciding factor in the 7-4A region race. Both teams won their region last year and now they've combined to form the newly Super Region as 6 teams were in the playoffs. So, I'm not going to say this will be for the region championship, but we can't wait for two Region Champs going at it with a title possibly on the line.

  6. North Side @ JCM- Fri. Aug 22- Week 1 is jam packed with great games. It will make for a difficult decision on deciding the Game of the Week, but this one will be in the mix. North Side who was a big surprise last season is filled with talent lead by future D1 baller Javonte Smith at receiver. Coach Lowe seems to have one of his best teams and traveling to JCM,also loaded down with talent, in what could be one of the best games of the season and for sure in Jackson.

This preseaon team was probably the toughest one I had to do. I defintely still left some really good ball players off the list. Guess the good thing about a Preseason List is that its just that...a preseason list. There's a whole season to be played and if your name isn't on here now, take care of business, and I can be willing to bet it will be at the end of the season.
